Is your printer fleet up to date with the latest mobile-friendly, cloud-capable print management solutions?

The explosion of mobile devices and mobile apps has mobilized our world, making it possible to do basically anything from anywhere. And that includes printing … printing “in the cloud.”

Convenience in the cloud.

Cloud-connected printers are always connected to the web, so this means you can print from anywhere (any continent even) via mobile device, traditional desktop or tablet. It also means the printers’ drivers and firmware are always kept up to date without any updating intervention on your part.

One way to access cloud printing is through Xerox™ Mobile Print. This platform allows you to print in any format, from traditional documents to PowerPoints and PDFs, without compromising the formatting. You can also choose to use a mobile app or simple email submission to get your jobs printed.

Another big benefit of the Xerox mobile printing solution is the total control it gives you over how you use it: Either manage it yourself or hand over the reigns to Xerox for their print experts to handle everything.

Confidentiality in the cloud.

When “the cloud” discussion comes up, security is always a hot topic. But with premium cloud printing solutions like Xerox Mobile Print and Google Cloud Print, security is taken care of.

    • Control when each print job gets released to the printer.
    • Manage block listings to ensure the right users have the correct access.
    • Choose the Cloud setup for greater control or opt in for on-site setup that installs behind your firewall.

ConnectKey™ in the cloud.

Xerox recently introduced ConnectKey, a software system embedded in Xerox multifunction devices, that addresses the need for more advanced IT security across connected devices.

Not only can you print, scan, fax and copy from anywhere with any device, but you can also use ConnectKey to send documents to cloud services — like Google Drive, SharePoint Online, Salesforce.com, DropBox, PaperPort Anywhere, Evernote and Microsoft Office 365 — for storage and collaboration.

ConnectKey-enabled multifunction devices, including the new WorkCentre® 5800 and 7800 Series*, are bolstered with high-level security provisions: not only embedded protection from McAfee, but also an additional layer of security with to protect data paths to and from devices with Cisco’s TrustSec.

Since ConnectKey uses an open Application Programming Interface (API), sales channel partners, systems integrators and resellers have the option to develop and embed apps on their devices with no additional software necessary.

* The WorkCentre 7220/7225, the Xerox ColorQube® 9300 Series and the Xerox ColorQube 8700/8900 Series will be available with ConnectKey in the second quarter.

Consistency in the cloud.

If you track and/or bill users and departments based on their print volumes, you may be concerned that cloud printing, which removes authentication, will not be tracked. Fortunately, there are applications out there that absolve this concern.

PaperCut’s Web Print application enables printing from user-owned devices without the hassle of installing printer drivers and managing server authentication.

Fully integrated with PaperCut’s standard print charging, accounting and quota process, the Web Print account allocation process is the same as that of any traditional networked desktop system.

Plus, it’s all locally hosted and in your control via your domain and your network.

Each day, printer service solutions are getting smarter, more efficient and more convenient. Are you getting the most out of your multifunction devices? Don’t let your devices get swept up by the tech-savvy tide.

To implement the latest technological developments and innovations in your managed print program, contact DocuSense and your personal DocuMentor™ will make sure you’re always on top of the tide.
